What an acquisition! The former CEO ofGoogleEric Schmidt, who joined Chainlink Labs as a strategic advisor, announced the project this week.
Chainlink develops “oracle” networks to connect real-world data with smart contracts built on blockchain.
Likewise, Chainlink sends information and data from sources such asGerman Telekom yAssociated Press to blockchains that help activate and secure more than $80 billion in value locked up in smart contracts across many blockchains.
“Blockchain networks and Chainlink oracles an agent that finds and verifies information, bridging the real world and the blockchain by providing data to smart contracts for execution of said contracts under specified conditions. are at a crucial inflection point in terms of growth and adoption”said the co-founder ofChainlink, Sergey Nazarov, in a press release. “Eric’s experience and expertise in building global software platforms for next-generation innovation will be invaluable as we help developers and institutions usher in a new era of transparency and economic equity.”
It’s worth remembering that Schmidt served as CEO of Google from 2001 to 2011, when the company went public, launched services such as Gmail, Google Maps y Chrome and acquired YouTube y Android.
“The launch of blockchain a distributed ledger system. A sequence of blocks, or units of digital information, stored consecutively in a public database. The basis for cryptocurrencies. and smart contracts has shown enormous potential for building new business models, but it has become clear that one of blockchain’s biggest advantages, the lack of connection to the world outside itself, is also its biggest challenge.” Schmidt said and added:
“I’m excited to help the Chainlink Labs team build a world powered by truth.”
